On Thursday after work I decided that I was gonna stop by the fabric store to see what I could find to sew.  I want a nice maxi or sundress out of wash n wear fabric.  You see I had spent alot of time looking at a friend's sewing blog.  She inspired me by reminding me of my mom and how she used to sew for us when we were kids.  My mom made everything from school to church clothes to prom dresses.   She even made my sister's wedding dress which was one of her last creations.  Now she just does hemming and minor alterations. 


 

I bought a Singer Confidence sewing machine a few years ago, so that  I could do some minor jobs.  Most of my jobs have evolved Felix and repairing his stuff.  LOL!!  I have made small items for him but yet have not sewn for myself since middle school when I made a pair of shorts.  I will try my hand at making a summer dress because I love sundresses and maxis this summer.   I normally do not wear dresses alot but this summer I have worn them more than ever before. I will put on one of my maxi dresses or a sun dress in a blink of an eye with some sandals.   I  was so inspired by my friend until I stopped by the fabric store to find a simple pattern.  The store had them on sale and yes I lost my mind in a major way. Lets just say I have too many patterns now. LOL!!  The is one I think I will try :  

 

What do you guys think??  I hope I can do it!!  I will probably do it with my mom supervising me to ensure that I don't mess it up.  Yep I'm chicken!!  LOL!!
