TODAY WAS A GOOD DAY!!

Last night I was doing some shopping for something to make for dinner, and my friend and  former trainer called to invite me to attend the 2nd day of a Pat Parelli clinic.     I  had in mind of doing what I try to do almost every weekend.. catch up on house cleaning.  Well, anyone who knows me knows horses rule my world.  I will drop everything almost to do something horsey. Well  She had scored some free tickets and we were going and gonna have fun.  How could we not with horses around and horse products on display?

Back to the dinner I was supposed to be cooking. I did not cook NOTHING! After all that shopping, I stopped on the way home and got some fast food.  My ground turkey tacos were the bomb tonight!

Pat and Linda Parelli

Pat and Linda Parelli do horse riding clinics all over and can be seen on TV or on their many DVD collections.  They have had much success in the area of horse training using natural horsemanship methods where you use less forceful or gentle methods.
We went and had fun and learned a few things.  We watch some demos. In one demo this lady worked with her horse from the ground and then rode bareback and bridle less.   My favorite highlight was seeing  a Para Olympic rider who will be competing at the World Games in Dressage perform. She has NO use of her legs so they put them in the stirrups and anchored them so they were at the right angle.  She rode by only  her body position and reins.  She was AWESOME!!!  You would not even notice that she was not an able body rider.  She got her horse to do some dressage maneuvers that most riders wish they could get their horse to do.  Her horse was  AWESOME too.  It was so inspiring!!  REALLY!!

I was inspired and could not wait to ride Felix.  LOL!!  I was determine that we could do some of the stuff  they were doing at the clinic. LOL!!  I got to the barn and got Felix all ready. I spent extra time grooming like I used to at our old barn.  I think we both enjoyed that.  I even messed up my fresh twist out with my helmet. LOL!   I just took my time and work with Felix at the walk first and move on from there.  We did well and even were able to do some of the things from the clinic.  YAYY!  We are getting our confidence in each other back and trying to get fit.  Felix and I have an ongoing convo when I ride.  :)   On our good days he makes me laugh while I ride. He will do something that will make me laugh.  Since I love too ride so much that in itself makes me happy.  When we finished our ride Felix  got to eat grass around the barn while I put my tack away and cleaned up.  I sat on a box near him and waited until he finally came over to me and gave him a carrot.  He could not resist coming over to me., his person.  :)  I LOOOOOOVE MY FELIX!!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY LADYLEE !!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY LADYLEE!!

Ladylee is my cubicle mate and we have been friends for some 15 -16 years.  Before we started working together we used to yack on the phone almost daily.  Now we support and encourage each other through difficult climates at work. We exchange knowing looks when craziness pops off.  In the past I have felt like sticking my foot out to trip up some of her supervisors, after they come over with some foolishness.  She is a great friend and influence on me as I try to do better and stay positive inspite of my circumstance.

We have so much fun cutting up during our "Peanut Gallery" times, where we run commentary on pictures, videos, or whatever.   She has posted some of our commentaries here => Pageant. Edition   and here my fav =>  Chicken-in-Sky Edition     Yes yall we do get our work done!! We just have to keep our spirits up!
I hope you spend your birthday doing whatever you want!!  Write ALLLLLDAY LONG!!  Rest!!  Watch the whirl of your ceiling fan!!  WHATEVER!!  It's YOUR DAY!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY SISTA CRE!!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY SISTA CRE!!!

There are some things that I remember growing up with my sisters (there were 3 of us).  SistaCre / Cali is the middle child. She was  brainy and kind of churchy growing up. She could not dance for the life of her. Our oldest sister used to said SistaCre would wait until a dance went out of style to finally learn how to do it. LOL!!
SistaCre blazed the trail for me by going out of our area to a magnetic high school.  When it was my turn, I did the same.   When I was little she used to be the one that helped me with my homework. I in turn had to help her review flash cards for test. She laid the blueprint for me to succeed in school.

I would like to think that I have grown from that aggravating lil sis to a real friend.  I wish you lived closer so we could spend more time together a little easier.

I hope you have a wonderful birthday!!

LOVE YA!!

First Post of the Year!!!

I FINALLY sat down to blog in 2012!!  I know January is almost over but here it is....   I just haven't taken the time to blog.  I need to get in the habit of checking in even if it is a short post or just rambles like this one.  LOL!

I do have alot of stuff to talk about.

The weather here in the ATL has been crazy!! What  is up with all this rain and temperature changes?

I don't ride Felix when it rains so it really needs to stop ASAP.  A large part of my life revolves around my four legged babies. I need to start back getting to work early so I can leave early and get to ride before it gets dark.
Home projects have been on my to do list.  I still have to do the following:
1. Finish putting up weather stripping on my last 2 doors.
2. Organize my office / sewing room. (just brought a table for my sewing machine)
3. Reorganize my kitchen (When I moved in I did not set it up right)
4. Finish setting up freezer meals in my new freezer.
5. Put up curtains or blinds in my basement
6. Get someone to look at my gas fireplace to make sure it is working properly. So I won't blow myself up or pass out from leaky gas.
7. Throw out empty boxes from my box room.

I have to amp back up my activity.  I have to be committed again to do some sort of physical activity 5 days a week. I have been gaining weight since I moved Felix to his current barn. I used to ride more both Felix and other horses everyday. Inorder to afford our old barn, I used to have to do alot of barn chores which were hard work.  Now I do not have the chores to do but I have not replaced that activity with something else.  Maybe Treadmill??  Weights?? Hmm..

I have to do posts on getting organized, sewing, training, cooking, my sister , my nieces and my hair to name a few.  I have even written some on paper too  but I left the pad at work in my desk.   LOL!!

Well that is all I got right now!  I hope you all have a GREAT week!  I promise I will try to blog more often.
